For developers: the Dispresso API and website widgets

Pay out coins and XP from your game, read member stats, send embeds and put your leaderboard on your website. What the Developer API and widgets can do.

If your community has a website, a game server or its own tools, Dispresso can plug into them. There are two ways in: widgets for your website, and the Developer API for everything else.

Widgets: copy, paste, done

Widgets are embeds for any server listed on Dispresso. Each one is a single div and a single script tag, with no build step and no framework. Swap in your own server's id or vanity slug and it shows your server.

  • Levels board: your top members by XP, with avatar, rank and level.
  • Bump board: who has bumped your server the most.
  • Server status card: your server's name and icon with a few public counts.
  • Game server card: a listed DayZ, Minecraft, Squad or other game server with the map, current players and an online or offline pill.

They follow the visitor's light or dark theme on their own. Grab the snippets at dispresso.co/widgets.

A server has to be listed and approved on the directory for its widgets to show, and adult servers never render.

The Developer API

One API key, scoped to the servers you manage on the dashboard. With it you can:

  • Pay out coins and XP from your game or website
  • Read member profiles, activity, leaderboards, the case log, tickets, giveaways, invites and shop items
  • Send embeds you built in the Embed Builder
  • Feed a live game server panel with your own reports
  • Keep your shop and custom commands in a repo

Everything is REST and JSON under /v1. The bot does the writing: coins go through the same ledger as the bot, XP through the same leveling ladder and embeds through the same sender, so anything you change, the bot can explain.

Reads are free. See dispresso.co/developers for keys and the current write allowance, and the Developer API guide for every endpoint.

Keyless public reads

For a listed, approved server there is also a small public API with no key at all: levels, bumps, economy, shop, commands, giveaways and member history. It is rate limited per visitor and powers the widgets above.

Wire your website to Discord

Want your website to show your server's announcements, a message of the day and your staff list? Say dispresso turn on our website feed and read it from one keyless URL. The Wire your website guide walks through it.

Safe by design

  • A key acts as its owner: it reaches only servers you manage, with only the scopes you gave it.
  • Each key has its own rate limit, set when you create it.
  • A leaked key is worth your login and nothing more.

New to writing bots? The free Make your own Discord bot course takes you from an empty folder to a bot that answers slash commands, and the web dashboard course shows how a site and a bot share one database. Stuck on something? Ask in the forums.

Building something cool with it? Show us in the support server.

Enjoyed this? Pass it on.
