The platform
Brews
Community posts, clips, comments, and Brews Voice rooms you can join, listen to, and share a screen in.
Brews is Dispresso's public community feed. People can share text or up to four images, use adult-only tags when eligible, like posts, open comment threads, reply to comments, search posts and profiles, and see qualified post views. A profile flair also appears beside the author's name on every Brew.
What is and is not allowed here is in the community guidelines.
Brews Communities#
Communities are public, interest-based feeds inside Brews. Anyone can discover and read them. Signed-in people can join, leave, create up to five communities, and publish directly into communities they joined. Replies stay connected to the same community as their parent post.
Every community has its own profile page at /brews/c/<name> with its description, tags, rules, staff list, and feed. The creator owns the community and can appoint admins and moderators, write the rules, set tags, choose whether everyone or only staff can post, and pick the accent color. Community staff can remove posts made in their community. Age-verified adults with NSFW enabled can mark a community 18+: it stays hidden from anyone who has not opted in, and every post inside it is treated as NSFW automatically.
Share links, saves, and the Creator Studio#
Every post has its own page at /brews/p/<id>. Press Share on any post to copy that link. The same gates apply on the permalink: an NSFW or private-author post is a not-found page for anyone who is not allowed to see it. The bookmark button saves a post privately; your saved posts and your full numbers (views, likes, comments, reposts, followers, following, and friends) live in the Creator Studio at /dashboard/studio, which is also where you post a brew, upload a clip, and see what is scheduled.
Boosts, gifts, and promoting a post#
The Boost button spends your Dispresso Shots to lift a post higher in the feed for a while; on someone else's post the same button is a gift, and the author is notified. Shots come from bumps or from packs, which cost the same whether bought in the Discord store or with a card through Stripe. Your own SFW posts can also be promoted across the site from the Ads Center using the Advertise button on the post.
Text styles and custom emojis#
The composer's Style panel picks a font and color preset for a post from a fixed set, so posts can look distinct without custom code. Community staff can upload custom emojis to their community, and anyone can use them anywhere on Dispresso by typing :name: in Brews posts, chat rooms, and direct messages. Emojis from an 18+ community only render for adults who opted into NSFW content, and every emoji can be reported.
Learn#
The Learn tab at /brews?feed=learn holds posts and clips tagged Educational, filed under a topic such as coding, gaming guides or Discord. Turn on Educational in the composer, or from the graduation cap on your own post, to add a tip. Learn never shows 18+ posts. If you would rather follow a guided path, the courses on the Work portal teach you to make a Discord bot, set up a server and more, one short level at a time.
Comments#
Press Comments to open the thread below a post. Replies appear oldest first, Load more continues from the correct cursor, and a new reply refreshes the open thread immediately. Signed-out visitors can read comments and are prompted to sign in when they reply.
Post views#
A Brews view is recorded after at least half of a post remains on screen for 800 milliseconds. Each card records once per page visit, and a retry does not add a second view.
Images and adult content#
PNG, JPEG, WebP, and GIF uploads are supported up to 8 MB each, with four images per post. Image-only posts are allowed. Images keep their full shape in the feed and open in an on-site gallery. Age-verified adults can enable 18+ posts from the composer, then mark the post before publishing. Adult-only posts are never sent to Discord follow channels.
Brews Voice#
A Voice room is a brew people can join and listen to. Press Voice room in the composer, give it a topic, and post. On the card, Join voice opens the room in the browser. The host can bring someone up as a speaker, name voice mods who can kick people, and pin a brew or a clip at the top. Speakers can share a screen on desktop, or the camera on a phone. Discord Go Live still works in a Discord voice channel. This room lives on the site.
/brews voice takes a brew id or a /brews/p/ link and replies with the join page. Make the room on the site first.
A server can have live rooms announced in a channel: say dispresso set up brews and it asks which channel, or dispresso make the brews live go to #live and dispresso make the live ping role @Live set the two directly. Manage Server, same as the dashboard.
Posting from Discord#
/brews post writes a Brew from wherever you are, under your own name, to your own profile. It does not need Manage Server, unlike the rest of this group, which is about the server's feeds rather than about you. If the post is turned down, over your age, a picture or a posting ban, it says which in its own words.
Send posts to Discord#
/brews follow
/brews unfollow
/brews listA server manager can follow a public Dispresso profile into a text channel. New public posts from that profile are delivered automatically, and each delivered embed links to the post's own page and to the author's profile.
Following anything else#
/follow add is the same feature pointed at other platforms: Brews, TikTok, X, YouTube and Instagram. Pick the platform, give a username, an @handle or a link to the profile, and name a channel or let it use the one you are in. /follow list shows every feed in the server and /follow remove stops one. You need Manage Server or Manage Channels. Following a Brews profile here and following it with /brews follow set up the same feed, so use whichever you reach for.
!fyp is the opposite of a feed: one post, picked for you, when you ask for it. !fyp brews, clips, x, tiktok, instagram, youtube or lastfm, and bare !fyp lists them. Last.fm is one you can dip into and not one you can follow into a channel: somebody listening scrobbles a track every few minutes, which would be twenty messages an hour.
Clips from Discord#
/clips upload upload a clip: attach the video, give it a title
!clips upload My 1v5 the same upload, with the video attached to the message
!clips following the newest clips from people you follow
!clips mine how your own clips are doing
/clips home open the clips feed on the siteA clip is a video up to 20 seconds, 720p, 15 MB. Every upload goes to review before it shows, whichever door it came through, and it lands in the Clips tab of the Brews feed and in the Creator Studio under your name. !clips following tells you apart the three empties: you follow nobody, the people you follow have not posted, or they have and this channel cannot show it.
