Counters

Voice channels at the top of your server whose names update on their own: members, online, boosters, roles and more.

A tracker channel is a voice channel Discord shows at the top of your channel list, whose name is a live number: all members, humans, bots, who is online, or anything else you want counted. set up server stats makes the first three in one go; from there you can add more one at a time or manage them from the dashboard.

Or just tell the bot#

Say it in chat
set up server stats
we want live member counters in our server
add a booster counter
we need an online counter added
we don't want the counter channels anymore

add a <kind> counter knows online, boosters, humans, bots, voice, idle, dnd, channels, text channels, voice channels, members, and members holding a role you name. Ask for a kind it does not recognise and it lists the words it knows instead of guessing. Start with dispresso or mention it. It asks for anything it still needs, writes the same settings the dashboard writes, and the whole list of sentences is on Talk to Dispresso.

What you can count#

KindShows
All membersEveryone in the server.
Humans / BotsMembers split by whether they are a bot.
Online / Idle / Do not disturbMembers in each Discord status.
In voice channelsMembers currently connected to any voice channel.
BoostersThe server's boost count.
Members with roleHow many members hold a role you name.
Channels / Text channels / Voice channelsHow many of each the server has.

How it refreshes#

Discord allows a channel to be renamed about twice in ten minutes, so a tracker never refreshes faster than that, whatever interval you set. The count is exact at the moment it renames rather than a live ticker, so expect the channel name to lag a real join or leave by up to that window.

Managing them#

Say remove server stats to delete every tracker channel and switch the module off, or manage them one at a time, add, rename, delete, from the Tracker channels page in /botdashboard, which is also where the category they sit in is named.

  • Everything here needs Manage Server.
  • There are no chat commands beyond the sentences above; the rest is talking to the bot or the dashboard.
  • Trackers are voice channels nobody can join or speak in.
  • The starter set from set up server stats reuses any of All Members, Humans or Bots you already have rather than duplicating them.

See Stats for message, voice and invite activity, a separate module from the tracker channels this page covers.
