Embed Builder

Create rich Discord messages with buttons, menus, automations, and multi-page packs whose buttons turn to each other.

Create rich Discord messages with buttons, menus, automations, and more without writing any code. The Embed Builder lets you design interactive messages that can post automatically, respond to events, and handle complex workflows.

Getting Started#

Go to the Dashboard, select your server, and click "Embed Builder" in the sidebar. Choose a template or start from scratch, customize your embed with the visual editor, and save your blueprint when you are happy with it.

Templates#

Templates are pre-built blueprints that work out of the box. Just pick one, customize the text and colors, and you are ready to go.

  • Announcement: Simple headline post for news and updates
  • Ticket panel: Opens private support channels when clicked
  • Role menu: Dropdown menu for users to pick notification roles
  • Welcome message: Auto-sends when someone joins your server
  • Giveaway: Time-based giveaway with automatic drawing
  • Wheel giveaway: Animated wheel spin giveaway with visual flair
  • Reaction role: React to get roles, works with sticky automations

Automation Types#

Make your embed post automatically or respond to events:

  • Sticky: Keeps your embed pinned to the bottom of a channel. Can carry reaction roles too.
  • Reaction roles: Posts once, and members react to grant themselves a role, react again to remove it.
  • Trigger: Fires when something happens (member join, keyword, reaction, message count)
  • Schedule: Posts on a timer or specific day/time
  • Giveaway End: Automatically draws winners at a set time. Supports button or reaction entry methods.
  • Wheel Giveaway: Animated wheel spin at a set time with visual winner selection

Button Actions#

Buttons can perform many actions when clicked:

  • Send another embed (great for menus)
  • Create or close ticket channels
  • Add or remove roles
  • Giveaway entry and drawing
  • Points system (give, take, balance, wager)
  • Open URLs and send custom messages

Open a ticket makes a real Dispresso ticket. Point the button at a Tickets category and that category runs it, or give the button its own category, staff role, name, questions and close settings. Either way /ticket close, Claim, Transcript and Close with reason work inside it, and it shows up with every other ticket. Questions are asked in a popup before the channel is made and land as the first card in the ticket. Close the ticket can ask for a reason first; the reason goes to the log and the opener's DM.

Pages#

One paste can hold a whole pack of messages that turn into each other: five staff SOP pages, a rules book, a shop catalogue, each with a Prev and Next row at the bottom. Paste any of these into the import box and every page is saved, in order, as its own blueprint:

  • a JSON array of messages, each in any shape the single import takes
  • a Discohook export with several messages in it ({messages: [...]})
  • {pages: [...]}

Discord's own JSON has no way to say "this button opens page 3", so the importer reads it off the button itself. A button says where it goes in any of these ways, checked in this order:

  • "page": 3 on the button, or "action": {"type": "show_page", "page": 3} (a Dispresso extension; Discord ignores keys it does not know)
  • a custom_id like page:3, page_3, goto-3, next, prev, sop:prev, nav_next, first or last
  • a label like Next, Next page, Previous, Prev, Back, First, Last or Page 3, or just an arrow (▶ → » for next, ◀ ← « for prev, ⏮ ⏭ for first and last), in the label or in the emoji field

Each of those becomes a Turn to another page action (show_page in the action list) pointed at the page that now exists, once every page has been saved. Next on the last page and Prev on the first come out disabled rather than wrapping round, because a book does not wrap. You can add the same action to any button by hand: pick Turn to another page and choose the blueprint it opens.

Common Use Cases#

  • Welcome system: Create a welcome message template, set member join trigger, DM instead of posting in channel
  • Support system: Ticket panel for opening channels, ticket controls for staff to claim/close
  • Giveaway system: Choose giveaway or wheel template, set end time, configure entry method and winner count
  • Role assignment: Reaction role template with sticky automation, configure emoji and role ID pairs

Tips#

  • Keep titles short and punchy
  • Use colors to match your server branding
  • Test automations in a private channel first
  • Set reasonable cooldowns to prevent spam
  • Use reaction mode for simple giveaways (easier for users)

The builder itself is at Dashboard, your server, then Embed Builder. Paste a Discohook export or a bare Discord message JSON into it and it reads either. Your own code can list the saved blueprints and send one through the developer API.
