Referrals and Premium
Start earning from referrals
Five steps, in order: get your link, share it, watch a signup land, wait out the hold, withdraw.
Dispresso pays you a share of the real money that people you brought to the product go on to spend. This page is the short path: five steps, in the order you do them. The full referral earnings guide explains every one of them properly, and the numbers below are the same numbers.
Before you start, two honest things
This pays out of revenue that Dispresso has actually collected, so it rewards sending real communities that stay and subscribe. A handful of signups earns close to nothing, and it is not designed to. The worked example in the full guide puts one Server Elite subscriber at about 61 cents a month.
There is no second level. You earn on the people you referred and on nobody they refer. That is a deliberate design decision, not a feature waiting to be built.
Step 1: get your link#
Sign in, then open /dashboard/referrals. Your code is created the first time you open that page, so there is nothing to apply for and nothing to click. The first panel shows the link and a Copy button.
https://dispresso.co/r/ref/AB12CD34Adding ?ref=YOURCODE to any public Dispresso URL does the same job, so you can point people at the page that suits them rather than always at the directory.
Step 2: share it#
Anywhere you would normally send somebody to Dispresso. When they open the link, their browser keeps your code for 30 days, so they do not have to sign up in the same sitting for it to count.
Step 3: they sign in, and the clock starts#
You are credited the first time that person signs in to the Dispresso site. That is the whole test. It is stamped once and never moves: a renewal, a second purchase or a later login does not restart it.
| This earns you money | This does not |
|---|---|
| Somebody whose first Dispresso site sign-in came through your link | Somebody who already had a Dispresso site account |
| What they buy in the 12 months after they sign up | Anything they buy after those 12 months |
| Real purchases: Plus, Pro, Server Boost, Elite, shot packs | Staff grants, founder grants, and the free Pro that rides with a Verified mark |
| Their purchases | Purchases by people they referred |
Your cut is 5% of net revenue, meaning 5% of what reaches Dispresso after the store that sold it takes its own cut, not 5% of the price on the label. Read how much you earn before you plan around a figure: the difference is large, and it is larger on a Discord Store purchase than on a card payment.
Step 4: wait out the hold#
A commission is credited the moment the purchase completes, then waits 45 days before you can take it. On /dashboard/earnings it is counted under the hold first and moves to Available on its own. The hold is what stops a chargeback months later being paid out of money that has already left. If a purchase is refunded, the commission it paid goes back with it.
Step 5: set up payouts and withdraw#
Payouts run through Stripe Connect Express. Start the setup from /dashboard/earnings: Stripe verifies your identity, takes your tax details and holds your bank details on its own pages. Dispresso never sees or stores them. You do not need any of this to start referring, only to be paid.
- The smallest withdrawal is $25.00.
- One withdrawal open at a time.
- Stripe finishing with you is not the same as being ready. Read the account status on the page: it names whatever Stripe is still waiting on.
- Tax on what you are paid is yours, and Dispresso may have to report payments to tax authorities.
The other referral reward#
The same link also pays Dispresso Shots when somebody lists a server with your code and staff approve the listing. That is a separate reward with its own tiers, it is not money, and signups do not count toward it. See the referrals guide.
Shots and Coins are not earnings
Creator earnings is its own balance, counted in cents, and it is the only balance on Dispresso that can be paid out as money. Dispresso Shots and Dispresso Coins have no cash value and cannot be converted into it. The rules are in the Creator Earnings section of the Terms.
