Modules
Welcome & Goodbye
Join cards, autoroles, and Ping on Join.
There are two switches here, not one
The welcome DM has a switch of its own and it sends even when the Welcome module itself is off. Everything else, the join message in a channel, the goodbye, autoroles and the short welcome, needs the module on. A server getting DMs but no join card has the DM switch on and the module off.
Open Welcome from /botdashboard, or type /server welcome to jump straight to the same page. Write the join and goodbye messages there and preview the card before a single member sees it.

Or just tell the bot#
set up welcome messages
make the welcome messages go to #welcome
make the goodbye messages go to #goodbye
make it say "Welcome to the server, {user}"set up welcome messages asks which channel (or makes #welcome), turns the module on and posts a real preview with you as the new member. In the same conversation, quote the text you want or say make it say, attach a picture or paste an image link for the background, and say perfect when it looks right, which ends the conversation by asking how it went. Start with dispresso or mention it. It asks for anything it still needs, writes the same settings the dashboard writes, and the whole list of sentences is on Talk to Dispresso.
Writing the message#
Placeholders fill themselves in: {user} mentions the person who joined, {server} is your server's name, and {#rules} links a channel by name. The join card behind the text has its own eyebrow line, title, subtitle, colours and font, or you can point it at an image of your own. Goodbyes take the same treatment.
Alongside your own text, the join message carries the member automatically: who joined, which number they are into the server, how old the account is, and when it happened, with your server's name in the footer. None of that needs writing, it is there on every join.
A member with DMs closed to servers cannot be sent a welcome DM by anyone, so a low delivery rate on the DM is usually that rather than anything you have set.
Autoroles#
Roles you list here are given on join, up to ten, or fifty in a server with premium.
One unreachable role costs the whole list
The autoroles are handed over in a single stroke, so if one of them sits above Dispresso in the role list and Discord refuses it, the new member gets none of the others either. If autoroles have stopped arriving, drag the Dispresso role above every role on the list and check it has Manage Roles.
The short welcome#
Separate from the join card and meant for a channel people actually talk in. Everyone who joins inside the same ten seconds is gathered into one message rather than ten, it can ping a welcomer role so regulars know to say hello, and the message deletes itself a minute later so the channel does not fill up with them.
Ping on Join#
Its own switch again. It mentions the new member in the channels you choose so the join lands in their unreads, then deletes the ping a few seconds later, between one and fifteen, four by default. Ten channels, or fifty in a server with premium.
