Two kinds, and they end differently. !giveaway 1h Discord Nitro #giveaway posts a card with an Enter button and draws when the clock runs out. !wheelgiveaway 1h Discord Nitro #giveaway collects entries the same way but finishes by spinning a wheel on screen with everybody's name on it. Both are staff commands. !gw is the short form of the first, and the slash forms are /giveaway start and /giveaway wheel, which ask for every option as a field instead of expecting you to remember the order.

A wheel spins one of two ways. First Spin Wins lands on a name and that is the winner. Final Spin Wins takes names off one at a time until a single one is left, which takes longer and is better to watch.

Durations are written the way you say them: 1h, 30m, 2h30m, 3d. A minute is the shortest and two weeks the longest.

Starting a giveaway is still the command above; talking sets the log channel. Start with dispresso or mention it. It asks for anything it still needs, writes the same settings the dashboard writes, and the whole list of sentences is on Talk to Dispresso.

Deciding who gets in#

Both kinds take the same requirements. You can ask for a role, a lifetime server message count, minutes spent in voice, a server level, or charge an entry fee in your server's currency. Paying the fee does not add entries. On top of that you can weight the draw: extra entries for a role, extra for server boosters, extra for messages sent after it starts, extra for time in voice, or extra for the people they invite. One person can hold at most twenty five bonus entries and a hundred entries in total, so an active member is favoured without drowning out the server.

Messages are counted in the giveaway's own channel unless you pick another: messages_channel on /giveaway start and /giveaway wheel lets you post the giveaway in #giveaways and pay entries for chatting in #general. entry_per_invites gives an entry for every N people a member brings in, counting only people who joined through their invite after the giveaway started and are still in the server when it is drawn. Inviting a friend who then leaves earns nothing.

The Dispresso Pro Giveaway#

A server with more than 500 members, not counting bots, can run !giveaway pro #channel (or /giveaway pro) once every fourteen days. It runs for fourteen days, one of your members wins a month of Dispresso Pro, and Dispresso pays for it. To enter, members have to be in the Dispresso Discord as well as yours, and the card says so with the invite on it.

It draws itself. When it ends, anyone drawn who has left the Dispresso Discord is skipped and the next entry wins, so there is nothing to reroll by hand and /reroll says so. The Pro is granted to the winner automatically, and every Pro giveaway is listed on dispresso.co/giveaways.

Rerolling#

/reroll draws a replacement from a giveaway that has already finished. It reads the entries as they stand now and checks every requirement again, so somebody who left the server or lost the required role since the draw is not eligible for the replacement either, and anyone already recorded as a winner is skipped. Leave the message id off and it takes the last finished giveaway in the channel.

A wheel with no giveaway behind it#

/casino wheelspin Alice, Bob, Charlie spins a wheel of names you typed, with buttons to add entries, remove one or view the list. It needs Manage Server in a server, and in the bot's DMs anyone can spin a private one.

Showing a giveaway on the site#

Mark a giveaway public and it appears on dispresso.co/giveaways. On the chat commands, put --site or --private at the end; the slash forms ask for it. Entering from the page needs a signed-in account, and when a giveaway has requirements only Discord can check, such as a role or a message count, the page lists the rules and sends people to the Enter button in Discord instead of letting them enter there.

• No NSFW, illegal, scam, harassment, or bait-and-switch prizes.
• Anything an entrant has to do outside Discord has to be stated plainly and be safe to do.
• A giveaway that breaks either rule is taken off the public listing.

Giveaways are switched on from /botdashboard under Giveaways, which is also where you set whether new giveaways are public on the site by default.
