Setup#
/botdashboardOpen Moderation Suite in the website dashboard, or use the native Discord setup pages (Overview, Feed coverage, Staff access).
Core commands#
Slash commands are the canonical way to play; the ! spelling is an alias
Both spellings run the same code and show the same answer. The slash form lives under a group where there are many verbs, and a group opens its menu at its home: type /zoo home, /eco home or /gang home. A standalone command opens its home when you leave the argument off, the way bare /zoobattle does. Here: !warn is /mod warn, !kick is /mod kick, !purge is /mod purge, !jail is /mod jail. The commands page shows the pair on every row.
Every staff verb sits under one group, and nearly all of them answer to the same word with the prefix in front. Both spellings run the exact same code: a ban deletes however many days of messages you asked for and carries the appeal link in the DM, and a jail DM states the reason, the duration, the case number and the appeals channel.
Or just tell the bot#
You do not have to remember any of that. Mention Dispresso and say it the way you would say it to a person, with as many people in one sentence as you like:
@Dispresso ban @a @b @c for spamming invites
@Dispresso jail @user, they keep dodging the filter
@Dispresso mute @user for 2 hours, cool off
@Dispresso kick @a @b alt accounts
@Dispresso unban 123456789012345678
@Dispresso lock this channel
@Dispresso slowmode 10 seconds
@Dispresso delete the last 20 messages
@Dispresso turn on moderation
@Dispresso make the staff logs go to #mod-log
@Dispresso make the jail appeals go to #appealsReply to a message and say @Dispresso ban them and it takes the author and the reason from that message. Before anything happens it shows exactly who, for how long and why, and waits for you to press Confirm; the server owner skips the confirmation. Each person goes through the same checks, DMs, cases and log lines as the typed command, and one receipt says who it reached and who it could not. It understands ban, unban, kick, jail, unjail, mute or timeout, unmute and warn, and the same permissions apply as the commands they stand for. Lock, unlock, slowmode and purge run the same commands with the same permission checks. The staff log and jail appeals channels are settings, so those two need Manage Server. @Dispresso what can you do lists everything it answers to, including making roles, private voice channels, prefix and theme changes and opening any module's setup, and the whole list is on Talk to Dispresso.
You do not even have to name the action. A wish reads as the moderation it points at: @Dispresso someone should mute him, @Dispresso we need this channel purged and @Dispresso @user needs to be banned all land on the same preview and Confirm as typing the command outright. A channel named or wished at goes through the moderation cog's own purge, lock, unlock and slowmode, a purge with the same preview first.
!warn @member reason /mod warn warn, and record a case
!warnings @member /mod warnings what is still standing against them
!history @member /mod history every action ever taken, cleared or not
/mod clearwarning <case id> drop one
/mod clearwarnings @member drop all of theirs
!kick / !ban /mod kick, /mod ban
!unban <user id> /mod unban they are not in the server to mention
!timeout @member 10m /mod timeout also !mute
!untimeout @member /mod untimeout also !unmute
!jail / !unjail /mod jail, /mod unjail strip the roles, then give them back
!purge 50 /mod purge bulk delete, optionally from one member
/mod prune remove inactive members (slash only), previewed first
!slowmode 30 /mod slowmode also !slow
!lock / !unlock /mod lock, /mod unlock stop and restart posting in a channelShort forms exist for the ones staff type all day: !w, !k, !to, !unto (or !unmute), !warns, !hist and !clear for a purge. Clearing a warning is a slash command only: it takes a case id off the history rather than a member.
